Bar Manager

Revolution Hall is seeking an experienced, dynamic, motivated, boots-on-the-ground type Bar Manager to oversee an incredible team and all operational aspects of the venue’s bars. Rev Hall operates up to five points of bar service including Show Bar, Marthas, Assembly Lounge, the Roof Deck, and Trophy Bar simultaneously. This position requires a candidate who demonstrates innovative and empathetic leadership. Rev Hall is primarily a concert venue which demands experience and confidence in high volume sales and a passion for live events while still being able to pay critical attention to detail. Being able to be both a coach and a team player is a must. We value providing excellent customer experiences and high quality products.

Title: Bar Manager

Reports to: General Manager

Job Purpose


To oversee all aspects pertaining to the Bar program and to institute and execute systems to continually improve our customer experience, consistency of products served, cleanliness, and employee job satisfaction.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work closely and actively with Production Director and House Manager and their teams to provide an excellent experience for all of our guests

  • Manage all bar leads/PICs to ensure efficient operations across all points of service and production including The Roof Deck, Assembly Lounge, show bar, Marthas, and any satellite or auxiliary bars need by events or clients

  • Write the schedule for all direct reporting departments and leads including the Bar Department at Revolution Hall

  • Work with the Private Events Coordinator to staff and execute all private events

  • Active management of all Food & Beverage operations

  • Monitor and council staff to maintain a high level of customer service & guest experience

  • Respond in a timely and appropriate manner to all customer service complaints and issues that pertain to the bar

  • Implement and maintain facility cleanliness systems

  • Work with your team build, monitor, and continually improve specialty cocktail and happy hour menus

  • Work with your team to use systems to maintain efficient product ordering and organization

  • Work with your team to train all new staff on job duties, safety, company policies, and product knowledge

  • Innovate new systems to improve consistency of products served and grow profitability

  • Ensure that all labor, OLCC, and food safety laws are followed

  • Ensure ambiance and aesthetic of the establishment are up to established standards


  • Three to five years of high volume bar management experience

  • Proven ability to build a team to accomplish multifaceted goals and objectives

  • OLCC certification

  • Oregon Food Handlers certification

  • Excellent verbal communication skills

  • Excellent problem solving and conflict resolution skills

  • High attention to detail

  • History of honesty and truthfulness

  • Studious mentality

  • Flexible mindset

  • Ability to take constructive criticism and grow from it

  • Basic Word, Excel, Google Docs, and POS skills

  • Knowledge of labor, liquor, beer, and food costs

Working Conditions

This position is a 50+ hour per week position with a business need-influenced, self-directed schedule that will include nights and weekends. Long days on your feet moving around the building are not uncommon.

Physical Requirements

This position will require:

  • Lifting of up to 75lbs

  • Long shifts of continual standing

  • Ability to change and lift kegs with a partner

  • Use of stairs multiple times throughout a shift

  • Inconsistent break periods
