Manager of Outreach and Events

The Manager of Outreach and Events is a forward-facing position in the Development Department that will oversee events

and engagement outreach activities for Fairfield Theatre Company. The position will successfully plan, coordinate, and

execute fundraising events for FTC, including a golf tournament and annual gala. The position will also manage a team of

volunteers and will be responsible for the Street Team marketing efforts. The position is a key member of the Development

team and works closely with FTC employees, volunteers, Board members, vendors, and outside service providers.


Specific Duties:

• Work directly with event committees and FTC management to plan, execute, and manage FTC events.

• Create detailed project plans that include up-to-date timelines, documenting each activity and step required to

successfully execute the events.

• Develop and write invitations and event promotions and other related communications.

• Create event budgets, to be reviewed and approved by management and event committee chairpersons.

• Follow up to ensure proper event records and fulfillment.

• Create an engagement outreach plan to deepen knowledge of FTC in the community.

• Develop and manage team of “Street Team” volunteers to distribute marketing materials.

• Maintain calendar to ensure FTC presence at community events; interact with public to promote FTC.

• Working with FTC staff, ensure that donor and patron records are maintained accurately.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes:

• The appropriate candidate will be diligent, tireless, and passionate about the mission and work of FTC.

• The ability to work collegially with other FTC staff, Board members, patrons, and supporters is essential.

• Excellent administrative skills including experience with Donor Management/CRM systems, and Microsoft Office.

• The successful candidate will have strong organizational and planning skills with an attention to detail.

• Must handle confidential information appropriately at all times.

• A college degree in a relevant field is preferred.

• Valid driver’s license is required.

• Physical demands: the employee will be asked to lift and/or move items up to 50+ pounds.

• Flexible schedule. Ability to work weekends and evenings, as necessary, to perform duties and meet the business

needs of FTC.
